Unveiling Trauma and Addiction: Part 1

Change will not come if we wait for some other person, or if we wait for some other time. We are the ones we’ve been waiting for. We are the change we seek” (Former President Barack Obama). Unveiling Trauma and Addiction is a three-part learning series to support learners in exploring the connections between trauma, addiction, and their impact on family well-being. Part 1, Unveiling Trauma, will allow learners to discover the different types of traumas that may influence an individual’s life outcomes, mental health, family well-being, and community. This learning session seeks to change perceptions around trauma, addiction, and substance use disorders, which is critical for enhancing policies, support, and services for individuals and families impacted. Learners must educate themselves and their communities on how to best support families through their past traumas and choices. This learning session will provide valuable information and effective strategies to promote positive outcomes for individuals, families, and communities. You will receive a certificate of professional learning time after completing the learning. If continuing education or professional learning is required for licensing purposes, please reach out to your organization or institution to ensure they will accept the certificate.
