Poverty vs. Neglect in North Carolina

Learners will understand the definitions and examples of poverty, maltreatment and neglect based on policies in the United States government and North Carolina government. Learners will learn how the various definitions and applications of policies around maltreatment, neglect, and poverty influence decisions regarding allegations which have a direct impact on families and their involvement with the child welfare system. Learners will explore how to mitigate the harms of neglect maltreatment and to support positive family outcomes.
